Girl: "Boy, do you like 'Pride and Prejudice'?"
Boy: "No, it's for girls."
Girl: "Who's your favorite person? I like Elizabeth Bennett. Do you like Mr. Darcy? He's a boy. Boys like boys."
Boy: "No, it's for girls."
Apparently we've had Pride and Prejudice on frequently enough for the girl (5 years old) to fall in love with the story already, but not long enough for the boy (7 years) to identify with Mr. Darcy just yet.
I've had the same feeling about that book and movie -- I was never able to articulate it as well as Boy, though.
